The success of Budapest Wagner Days, the world-famous opera festival of Müpa Budapest– one of the best known cultural brands in Hungary and one of the most modern cultural institutions of Central Europe – began in 2006 with outstanding international success and two overwhelmingly powerful performances of Parsifal, turning Béla Bartók National Concert Hall – which boasts cutting-edge acoustics, as well as unique stage setting – into a renowned destination for Wagner enthusiasts. The thirteen-year history of the festival has seen the staged performances of every great opera of Wagner, the complete “Bayreuth canon”, featured performers regarded as the best interpreters of Wagner’s art.
Müpa Budapest has come up with a unique, award-winning brand identity for the event series in 2018/19, based on the guiding themes, leitmotifs of Wagner's operas by using a special sound analysis software, and has been collaborating with young designer students from the MOME, University of Art and Design in Budapest and also a craft beer company to expand the Wagner-experience.
