DR. ANDRÁS CSÓKAY AND HIS TEAM

„Everything starts from prayer” (Mother Theresa)

We met with the Siamese twins in Dhaka on a medical mission 2 years ago. The craniopagus children were known for a long time but there have not been a medical team that would operate on them. Because of the challenging anatomical status for the first time we also thought the neurosurgical separation was not an option. However continuous prayer sparked an idea from which we could start working. Our prayers have been answered. With the spiritual help of my family and people everywhere the neurosurgical (skull and brain ) separation was a success. Right now, unfortunately one of the girls is in worse condition because of a haemorrhage but the other girl’s status is quite positive. Thanks to other colleagues who helped us from the different medical field. Thanks to God and all those people who thought and prayed for us.

Curator's opinion

"I admire the sacrificial work that the medical team of Professor Csókay have done. Due to the extreme risk of the surgery, world-famous foreign neurosurgery clinics did not undertake the separation of the conjoined twins in Bangladesh, but the team decided to take all the risks. Faith and dedication, hand in hand."
